A day at the Zoo is a workout, stop and think about it, you can walk for miles, all day for hours, stopping at various habitats to look at the animals.
Recently the wife and I took off to our nearest Zoo, we got there reasonably early around 11.00 am and left about 3.30 pm, that's four and a half hours, of primarily walking, carrying our Hydra bottles, so we could stay hydrated, as well as phones to take great video and still images.
So here's the thing, a day at the Zoo, is a way to live longer, it's getting you out of the house, breaking a stay-at-home routine, it's mentally stimulating for people who live in the suburbs and never see elephants, tigers and such.
The physical walking, adds to your step count, but it's fun and you don't really notice it. If you have a young family, it's perfect for the children, teaching them that there are truly amazing beasts.

My message is simple, being active, doing things, moving you body, stimulating your mind and enjoying life and family, is something you can do, quite simply as long as you have the right positive mental attitude.
You don't have to go to the gym and move 3 tonnes of iron, or work on a jackhammer for hours, true, that's great stress for your body and very useful, but you can still participate in life and put the odds in your favour, using far simpler methods.

So right! That type of exercise is always so much more enjoyable than just stepping it out on a treadmill. You get the benefits without the boredom. Will have to check out Sydney Zoo soon. Thanks for the suggestion Ron Ziemiecki.
