Epidemiology is something I avoid, I’d rather do my own science n=1, it’s a very small dataset to be sure but I know what it did for me and I have my sights set on 100 years.
If I make it, then as far as I’m concerned, I pulled the right reign. I appreciate and respect that different folks have different strokes, so it’s possible that people who don’t exercise or approach their diet with care, can make it to old age.
Seeing it’s not the length of your life per se, but rather the quality, I strongly urge you to exercise (move) every day, as well as eating a diet of moderation and making sure you get enough protein to maintain muscle mass.
Some people say that living well is living without sickness but that’s not my belief. Living without sickness is my baseline, from there you should only go up.
In this context, up is feeling insanely good, jumping out of your skin as it were, at any age. I can’t tell you, you just have to believe me. Now in my 70’s, I just go like the clappers all day expending energy and doing so much, I wish a day had 30 hours in it.
Trust me, this was not always the case, I had to learn much and make many changes, suffice to say that I totally endorse, that it’s about quality.
My hope is to obtain both (not greedy much), that is, live longer and enjoy every second of it. 😁
