The whole concept of food is complex, not so much what we eat but what happens after we eat it.
Sadly, I have spent years studying what happens once the food is in our mouth. The selection of food is your choice based on availability, and factors like cost, taste and theological beliefs usually date back to parental influences and marketing hype.
Your body does not care, how easy or hard it is for you to obtain food, it just needs it. Your body doesn’t care what you like to eat, can afford, what your parents made you eat or what the commercials on TV say.
From a biological perspective, "eating" refers to the process of ingesting and consuming nutrients, typically through the mouth, to sustain life and support bodily functions.
Ingestion:The act of taking in food or substances into the body through the mouth.
Consumption: The process of breaking down and utilising nutrients from ingested substances.
Nutrient uptake: The absorption of nutrients into the bloodstream, which are then distributed to cells and tissues.
Energy production: Providing energy for bodily functions, growth, and maintenance.
Nutrient supply: Delivering essential nutrients, such as proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals.
Growth and repair: Supporting growth, development, and repair of tissues.
So as you can see, the biological definition of eating encompasses the complex processes involved in obtaining and utilising nutrients to sustain life.
If you think about the robotic way we eat, meal times, what’s good for you, and all the way modern society has evolved this art form and status symbol around eating, you know it’s all just pretend. 🥴
The absolute only reason to eat is to Sustain Life. You can take sides, plants or animals, carbs or fats, tea or coffee, it’s all just noise.
Now, I don’t want to be the bloke who took away the fun of eating, but too much fun can end up making you sick.
It’s not that I’m a dull person, it’s just that I enjoy the feeling of being like a Superman at any age. I can’t just accept what people say or do, I’m wired to having to find out the real, underlying truth.
I know the WHY, convincing people that the Why comes before the HOW, is extraordinarily difficult because, knowledge seems to run second to marketing and wealth creation by large food companies.
It’s hard to go up against billion-dollar companies that can make toasted tree bark look appealing 🥴😵💫

Eating, beyond being a human compulsion, is also “feeding the machine”.
The better the quality of food intake, the better the machine functions.
This is why it’s so important to select the right foods to consume.
